this is probably not something new, but i just recently discovered that you can use gmail with your domain for free – personal use only.

with this, instead of using your normal gmail email address with your emails, you can now use email address with your own domain. you can set up up to 50 users under this account.

from your gmail, go to settings > accounts, notice the very last line as follows:

use gmail with your domain for free

the page to sign up is not obvious. it took me a while to find out the non-business edition.

you will be asked to enter some information and setup an administrator account.

this brings you to the dashboard where you will need to verify that you own the domain and update your host records. just click the links and follow instruction.

you can’t send emails until your domain is verified.

the other thing to consider is to setup urls to different apps instead of using the default long url that’s hard to remember. just click the app and look for change url link. you will need to setup your cname records to make it work.

read setup guide for more detail instruction.
