i’m transferring a domain from godaddy to namecheap. namecheap is having special for transfers for ‘next 72 hours’ (as of email sent 18 hours ago) with code TRANSCHEAP.

reason i’m using namecheap because its cheaper. the whois guard is free. and most important of all, the account management is not so confusing.

to proceed with transfer process, you need to provide epp code. i was looking all over godaddy but could not find that. after some googling, it turns out you need to look for another term. authorization code. which is in domain manager.

click ’send by email’ link. and wait patiently for it. i expected immediate delivery since, it’s an online system! i thought i had the wrong email address setup and was worried someone might get it! and was looking all over to ensure i have entered my email address correctly.

the code was delivered to my inbox about 1.5 hours later.
