ever since upgrading my pc to win7, i'm always asked to enter my login to a network drive connected to a linux server via samba even everytime i restarted my pc, though the option Remember my credentials is checked.
why does window provides an option that doesn't work?
after some investigation, i discovered credential manager. (always discover something new when there's a problem.)
credential manager can be found via control panel > user accounts.
there's an entry under windows credential for the mapped drive, but noted the value for Persistence says 'Login session'. trying to edit it, the only values that are allowed to be edited are username and password.
so i just noted the values for the above entry and create a new credential with the same values. no field for Persistence. but after saving, value shown for Persistence is 'Enterprise'.
now the mapped network drive is automatically connected and you won't be asked to enter your login again.
