windows: enable ping

by default windows disables ping. for easier user support sometimes it's easier if this utility is enabled. this can be turned on via windows firewall.

winXP

  • control panel > windows firewall
  • click advanced tab
  • in ICMP box, click settings...
  • check Allow incoming echo request
